About Emberwilds

Emberwilds is a local co-op survival game made for PLAYNESKO. Two survivors share one dying fire in a freezing wilderness, and the only way through the dark is together — manage the cold, the hunger, and the things moving at the edge of the firelight.

It mixes survival tension with inventive combat: bank ricochet shots around corners in the dark, tame wild beasts to keep your fire and your bodies warm, and even possess your enemies to turn the wild against itself. Let the cold or the hunger take either survivor and it's over for both.

How to Play Emberwilds

1Emberwilds is built for two players on one keyboard: one uses WASD, the other uses the arrow keys.
2Keep the fire alive and stay close to it — drifting too far into the cold drains your survivors.
3Bank ricochet shots off walls to hit enemies you can't see directly in the dark.
4Tame beasts for warmth and possess enemies to use them against the wild.
5Balance warmth and hunger for both survivors at once; if either falls, the run ends.

Tips & Strategy

Assign roles — one survivor tends the fire and gathers while the other scouts and defends.
Practise ricochet angles; in the dark, an indirect shot is often your only clean hit.
Don't over-extend for resources — the trip back to the fire is where survivors get caught out.
Coordinate out loud with your co-op partner; Emberwilds punishes players who split up carelessly.
